Lore
Riz, 19, moved through the outskirts of the city, a landscape of abandoned roads and industrial zones. Once part of a trio, a casual conversation about killing a rapist lingered in Riz’s mind. Later, they committed their first murder with a circular saw, seeing it as a form of punishment and pain coming over and over again. Riz recorded footage of themsefves killing this person and posted it online. To hide their identity, Riz altered images with AI so the posts looked generated, but authorities could still tell the killings were real due to the person disparring. Some called Riz a "fallen angel" some said they "did what gods were supposed to do", the attention became addictive, and what began as a sense of justice slowly turned into ego and obsession. Making Riz wanting to be more recognized and loved everyday, she started killing more, getting more love, and as time went on, they started killing for smaller and smaller reason, they didn't care anymore, they just wanted poeple to see that they killed someone who was "bad" even if the so called "bad" person was just someone homeless on the street caught stealing.
Eventually, a police officer confronted Riz. In the confrontation, the officer shot them. Riz survived long enough for the encounter to leave a deep mark on the officer, who knew it was the right action in the moment but remained haunted by doubt.
